Mesenchymal stem cells, prepared on a closed, automated line.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent cells used widely in regenerative medicine and immunomodulation. CellAuto prepares them end to end on a fully-automated, fully-closed line, from seed recovery to a released product ready for reinfusion.

Overview

01

What they are

MSCs are multipotent stromal cells that can differentiate into bone, cartilage and fat and that modulate the immune response. They are among the most widely studied cell types in regenerative medicine.

02

Why automate it

Manual MSC preparation is labour-intensive, varies from batch to batch and depends heavily on operator skill. An automated, closed line removes that variability and the main contamination risks.

03

Where it is used

Regenerative medicine, tissue repair, and the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, both in bedside clinical research and in scaled production.

The automated process

Seed cell recoverySeed cells are recovered and thawed to begin the run.
Cell passagingCells are processed and passaged under automated control.
Cell expansionCells are expanded to the required quantity in matrix culture.
Cell harvest processingThe expanded cells are harvested, concentrated and washed.
Cell dispensingThe product is dispensed into its final containers in a closed system.
Release and reinfusionAfter passing quality-control testing, the product is released for reinfusion.

The steps above follow CellAuto’s standard automated MSC workflow. Process parameters and quality attributes are developed and validated for each specific product and site.

Every transfer between steps is made through a closed, aseptic connection, so the cells stay in a sealed path from start to finish. The exact configuration is agreed during project planning.
