CellAuto Series · WAVE Bioreactor
WAVE010Expansion by rocking, not by stirring.
An impeller moves a culture by shearing it. The WAVE010 moves it by rocking the bag, so animal cells, suspension cells and microcarrier-bound adherent cells expand in a low-shear environment and arrive at harvest with their viability intact.

Key features
Rapid modular deployment
Installation, operation and reconfiguration are straightforward, and the base carries temperature monitoring, wave agitation, weighing and exhaust gas heating in one compact platform.
Intelligent process control
The I/O module brings together optical pH and dissolved oxygen sensors, gas mixing and high-precision peristaltic pumps, so monitoring, feedback and parameter regulation run automatically.
Independent dual-zone temperature
Two heating plates hold two culture bags at two different temperatures on the same tray, which makes parallel process development practical rather than sequential.
Digital process management
The server module runs control software with audit trails, electronic data logging, user access management and automatic report generation, meeting GMP data integrity requirements.
How it works
A wave moves the culture, and nothing cuts through it.
Shear is the quiet cost of conventional agitation. Every pass of an impeller damages a fraction of the cells, and for a sensitive line that fraction decides whether a batch is usable. Wave mixing removes the blade from the equation.
Load the bag
A single-use culture bag goes onto the tray. Two bags can run side by side, each on its own heating plate, which means two conditions tested in one run instead of two.
Rock, sense, correct
Gentle rocking keeps the culture mixed and gassed. Optical pH and dissolved oxygen sensors read continuously, and the gas mixer and peristaltic pumps answer without an operator.
Record and report
The server module logs every parameter as it happens, under user access control and an audit trail, and produces the batch report at the end rather than asking someone to assemble it.
The result is an expansion step that suits animal cells, suspension cells and microcarrier-based adherent cells alike, with the weighing, temperature control and exhaust gas heating already built into the base rather than bolted on.
Specification
Maximum volume is taken from the CellAuto product deck rather than the datasheet, and should be confirmed for your process. Performance depends on cell type, bag configuration and process parameters, and final specification is agreed during project validation.
In a production line
Where the WAVE010joins the line.
The standard CellAuto configuration below is built around matrix culture of adherent cells. The WAVE010 is not part of that particular line, it takes the place of, or runs alongside, the culture stage when the process is suspension based. Everything downstream, processing, filling and the records, stays the same.
That configuration produces roughly 10,400 vials a year with a culture time of seven to nine days per batch. A suspension process is sized differently, and CellAuto works the configuration out against your cell type, batch size and facility.
Where it sits in the line
The WAVE010 serves the culture stage for suspension processes, alongside the AS015 Automatic Posture Adjustment System, and the Cell Full Lifecycle Management Platform records every phase.
